Sherwood Elm Grove Trails Association

Welcome To Sherwood Elm Grove Association

The Sherwood Elm Grove Trails Association oversees the over five miles of greenbelt trails that are nestled within Sherwood Trails and Elm Grove Village.

The greenbelts that run through Sherwood Trails Village and Elm Grove Village are for the use of it’s residents to enjoy. The residents that form the Sherwood-Elm Grove Trails Association take great pride in striving to keep the greenbelts as natural as possible as they were intended. Kingwood is fortunate to have these natural areas throughout our community.

Since the greenbelts are for the residents’ to enjoy, there are safety issues to be aware of as well. The greenbelts are closed from dusk until dawn. The greenbelts are considered safe, but by their very nature, safety must be in your mind when using them. Be aware of your surroundings. Watch out for any suspicious activity or persons. Dog owners must keep their pets on a leash while using the greenbelts. Many bicyclists, joggers, and walkers use the trails. Some dogs may not respond well to people approaching as well as other dogs. The city of Houston has a leash law that mandates that all dogs and cats in a public place must be on a leash. If the dog or cat is not, the animal may be impounded or the owner cited. One other safety issue for residents using the greenbelts is to watch out for snakes. Snakes often times use the concrete of the greenbelts to sun and warm themselves.

These safety tips will aid residents who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the greenbelt system. We ask that you take the time to walk, jog, ride a bike, and enjoy what it has to offer. You can hear the birds singing, watch the rabbits and squirrels, and hear the leaves on the trees rustling in the wind.
